Easy Legal Finance Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ewa Opalinski discusses some of the professional and personal challenges and opportunities presented by the pandemic in a recent interview with CPA Ontario.

Ewa was profiled in CPA Spotlight, a feature section that focuses on the success stories of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPAs) forging new paths, following their passions, dominating the field, and helping others.

As the CFO of Easy Legal, Ewa is an integral part of the company’s governance, risk management, operational and financial strategy.

“She also plays a significant role in assessing expansion and acquisition opportunities, which kept her busy during the pandemic,” says CPA Ontario. “Ewa negotiated three acquisitions to help accelerate the firm’s strategic plan, despite the impacts of COVID-19.”

Ewa tells CPA Ontario: “I work alongside our teams to incorporate leading technology solutions to increase the efficiency of our lending process and to fuel the growth of our company so that we can continue to provide access to justice to those in need.”

Ewa’s husband — also a CFO and CPA — was profiled in the article as well, and the couple discusses how they have helped support one another in their respective careers and marriage, providing stability in an otherwise uncertain time.

“Over the past 19 months, their shared lives have provided newfound challenges and opportunities to pivot. While they’ve seen new challenges at work during the pandemic, they’ve also found ways to pivot at home,” the article states.
